The project was an Arts Council Wales and Race Council Cymru funded small Arts development project that engages communities in new and innovative artistic practice. The project supports 2023 theme of Young People, the Time is Now as it identifies talented youths in our local communities who should be celebrated for their creativity, achievements, and contributions to Wales. We used the project to inspire our young performers and give them the platform they need to fulfil their full potential. We also promoted positive ethnic minority role models within the community to create stronger community cohesion, we had speeches from Cllr Patience Bentu (Labour Constituent Authority: Swansea County Council), Evelyn James (WEN Wales) and Robert Muza (Community Connector for Ethnic Minorities - Newport City Council).
Attendees were treated to a diverse range of activities catering to every interest and age group. From classic outdoor picnics to thrilling games and creative arts and crafts, there was something for everyone to enjoy. The event buzzed with laughter and joy as families engaged in friendly competitions, explored their artistic talents, and savored delicious treats. Live entertainment captivated audiences, with local artists showcasing their talents through music, dance, and performances that kept spirits high throughout the day.
The highlight of the event was the raffle, where attendees had the chance to win exciting prizes and take-home tokens of the day's festivities.
Overall, the Family Day Event was a heartwarming celebration of family, community, and togetherness. It provided an opportunity for families to create lasting memories and strengthen bonds in a welcoming and festive atmosphere.
